How to request and update an absence in Leapsome?
How to Request and Update an Absence in Leapsome. The demo follows Renee Montoya as she requests a holiday, updates her request, and checks its approval status. Time off can be requested from two places: the Create button on the homepage, where Request absence opens the absence module, or by navigating directly to the Absence module. The Calendar shows the user's own absences and peers' availability. An absence request can be started from the Calendar, and time off can also be requested by dragging across dates. In the request form, the user selects an absence policy, and the form adjusts to match the policy requirements. In this example, PTO is selected and the form updates automatically. The user opens the calendar to select a start date (October 28) and an end date (November 5), and can change the year and month using the navigation bar. The user names a substitute to cover during the absence (Leyla Khatib) and can add an optional comment for the manager. Sending the request notifies the approver instantly. After submission, the user opens the request to check its approval status. The request shows who the approver is, and the status updates once it is approved. The user can review the full history of updates from submission to decision, then close the history. Once approved, the approver and confirmed dates are visible. The approval flow shows who approved the request and when. If plans change, the request can be withdrawn. After the user confirms the cancellation, the calendar is cleared of the absence. To update an existing request, the user clicks Edit, opens the calendar, and changes the dates (for example, selecting the 29th as the new end date). The user can select a different colleague in the Substitute field (Victor Zsasz). Sending the updated request returns it to the approval flow for review. The demo covers absence management in Leapsome from request to approval, including requesting, editing, withdrawing, and tracking approval status.
How to verify your remaining PTO in Leapsome?
How to verify your remaining PTO in Leapsome. This demo shows where to see your leave balance, how days are deducted, and how to request time off. Start on your profile, which contains personal details including your time off balance. Open the Absences tab to see everything related to your absences and time off. Track your annual PTO grant in real time and see how much of your yearly entitlement you've used. Planned days are time off that has been approved and committed by your manager. The remaining balance is your entitlement minus days already used or planned. Click View to see the full details for a policy. The pop-up shows the full breakdown of the absence policy and remaining days, including total entitlement, which is prorated based on your start date and admin settings. The remaining balance also appears here, so you can check it from anywhere in the platform. The Activity tab shows every change to your balance, including requested days off, absences taken, and carry-over from previous years. Use the drop-down menu to filter by absence policy. Select Sick Leave (Paid) to see how it is tracked separately from vacation and does not affect your vacation balance. Doctor's appointments have their own category and do not count against your vacation balance. Switch back to PTO to view your balance and plan your next time off. Click to return to the general absence view. Click the + icon to request time off from this page, which opens your calendar to log a new absence request. You now know where to find everything about your absences so you can plan your time off.
