The AI Review Assistant transforms your review writing experience by turning traditional questionnaires into dynamic conversations. Instead of answering static questions one by one, you can engage in a guided dialogue that helps you provide deeper, more thoughtful feedback.
Writing performance reviews can be challenging and time-consuming. Traditional review questionnaires rely on rigid questions that don't adapt to specific situations, often leading to generic feedback and reviewer fatigue. The AI Review Assistant addresses these challenges by breaking lengthy questionnaires into an engaging conversational flow.
How the AI Review Assistant works
The AI Review Assistant acts as your personal feedback coach, guiding you through prompts, follow-up questions, and reframing ideas. It encourages specific, evidence-based feedback focused on observations and impact, while drafting suggestions in your own style that you can edit, accept, or ignore.
During the conversation, you can track your progress to see which questions still need context. The assistant uses adaptive questioning based on the original questionnaire template, but isn't limited to it - it freely identifies the most effective way to collect information for high-quality feedback.
Using the AI Review Assistant
To use the AI Review Assistant:
Navigate to your review assessment questionnaire in Leapsome Reviews and click 'Start Brainstorming' at the top of the questionnaire. This opens a chat interface where you begin your dialogue with the assistant.
The assistant will prompt you with questions and guide you to provide richer examples and thoughtful insights. You can track your progress throughout the conversation.
When you're ready, click 'Generate draft' to create a draft comment based on your conversation. You can then edit, accept, or reject the draft before final submission.
If you need to step away, your conversation and draft will auto-save. You can resume by clicking 'Resume chat with Leapy' when you return.
The assistant maintains your control throughout the process - it never auto-submits responses and always allows you to review and edit suggestions before finalizing your feedback.
The assistant will only be visible on non-completed assessments. Only when an assessment is in edit mode, will the assistant be available.
Voice interaction in the review assistant
The review assistant supports voice interaction, making it easier to provide detailed, thoughtful feedback. Speaking is faster and more natural than typing, allowing you to express nuanced thoughts without the cognitive effort of composing written text. This is especially helpful for non-native speakers who may find typing more challenging.
Voice interaction includes two key features:
Voice dictation for input: Click the microphone icon in the assistant chat to dictate your responses instead of typing. Your voice input is transcribed and appears in the chat, where you can review or edit it before sending. This allows you to provide richer context more easily and helps the assistant generate better suggestions.
Text-to-speech playback: Click the speaker icon next to any assistant-generated response to hear it read aloud. This helps you better understand the tone and clarity of the suggestion. You can also enable automatic playback for all messages in the conversation.
Please note: Voice dictation requires microphone access in your browser. If your browser does not support voice input or you deny microphone access, you can continue using the text-based chat.
