You may already be familiar with Leapsome's user import method using Excel as a simple way to keep your user accounts up-to-date. For Compensation, you can import the salary, bonus, and equity information for your colleagues by populating additional columns in the same Excel sheet in preparation for setting up a compensation cycle. To download the Excel sheet and enter the information, go to Settings > Excel imports and integrations > 'excel imports' > Employee attribute changes. The sheet includes columns to enter the pay and equity values of each user.
Once these fields are populated, either manually or by extracting and entering the data from your HRIS, the Excel sheet can be re-uploaded via 'Employees' > 'Actions' > 'Add employees'. The pay and equity data will be visible in each user's profile to the Super Admin and Compensation module admin only. No other user will be able to access or view this data.
The following pay and equity information can be imported to Leapsome:
- Bonus
- Salary
- Salary: Pay band name
- Salary: Compensation ratio
- Salary: Currency (check out this article to learn what currencies are supported)
- Equity: Number of shares
- Equity: Type
- Equity: Exercise price
- Equity: Total share price
- Equity: Grant start date
- Equity: Vesting period (months)
- Equity: Vesting cliff (months)
- Equity: Vesting cadence (monthly, quarterly, annually)
Import Salary from Personio or BambooHR
Currently, you can sync salary information directly from the HRIS Personio or BambooHR to Leapsome. The salary number would be synced directly if attributed. However, the currency would still need to be added in the Admin settings to be denoted within the field. Currently, the integration only allows to syncing standard salary attributes from an HRIS. If you want to include a custom salary field from your HRIS, you can upload that via the Excel import.
Which kinds of salary attributes can be imported?
Compensation cycles operate with absolute numbers and percent increases. This means you can add salaries and bonuses as annual, monthly, or hourly simultaneously for different users. However, you must filter for respective groups to get interpretable compensation analytics. Please note that only one currency at a time is supported.
When importing salary, bonus, and equity information for a user in Leapsome, the Salary bands in the Compensation module will not be automatically updated. However, updating the Salary bands in the Compensation module is essential for the compensation ratio calculation, so if you are planning to run a compensation cycle, please update the Salary bands from the Compensation module.
