Leapsome includes a default Pay Gaps dashboard with 13 pre-configured widgets covering the key metrics required by the EU Pay Transparency Directive. These include mean and median gender pay gaps for total and variable pay, pay quartile distributions, and variable pay participation rates. Admins can use the dashboard as-is for compliance reporting or duplicate it to build a customized version.
The Pay Gaps features are available to customers with the Leapsome's HRIS and / or the Compensation module.

When to use this feature
Use the Pay Gaps dashboard when you want to:
- Report on gender pay gaps in total pay and variable compensation as required by the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
- Identify which teams, locations, levels, contributor types, or contract types have a pay gap above the 5% threshold.
- Analyze how employees are distributed across pay quartiles by gender.
- See what share of employees in each gender received any variable pay.
- Export pay gap data for internal reviews, works council presentations, or regulator submissions.
- Build custom pay gap widgets beyond the default dashboard.
How to use this feature
- Go to Analytics > Dashboards.
- Find the Pay Gaps dashboard in the list of default dashboards.
- The dashboard loads pre-filtered to show company-wide data for the last calendar year, including both active and deactivated employees.
To adjust the time period or other filters, use the filter bar at the top of the dashboard. To create a customized version, click 'Duplicate' and edit the widgets as needed.
Please note: Access to the Pay Gaps dashboard follows the same logic as all other Analytics features. Anyone with editing access to Analytics can create and view these widgets. Individual data points may additionally be restricted based on your profile field visibility settings.
Building custom pay gap widgets
Video walkthrough:
- Open any dashboard and click 'Add widget', or duplicate the Pay Gaps dashboard and edit the existing widgets.
- Alternatively, you can select one of our available templates (e.g. 'Share of employees with add. compensation (per gender),' 'Gender Pay Distribution (Total Pay),' 'Gender Pay Gap (avg. Total Pay) etc), by clicking on 'New widget' > 'From template'
- Select a data source, e.g., Salary, Bonus, or Total Pay.
- Choose an aggregation: Average, Median, Share of Total, or Quartiles.
- For percentage-based comparisons, select 'Gap' as the visualization type, then configure the compare attribute (e.g., Gender) and the two values to compare (e.g., Male vs. Female).
- Optionally add a segment to break down the gap by team, location, level, or other HRIS attributes.
- Save the widget.

Exporting your report
- Open the 'Pay Gaps' dashboard or any custom pay gap dashboard > Navigate to the widget you would like to export
- Click on the three dots menu and select either 'Export as image' or 'Export as Excel'
Please note
- EU reporting timeline: The EU Pay Transparency Directive requires annual or triannual reporting, with the first official reporting period expected from summer 2027 onward using 2026 calendar-year data. The Pay Gaps dashboard helps you run internal checks and prepare your data now, ahead of that deadline.
- Part-time employees: The Gap visualization always uses raw salary values and does not extrapolate to a 100% FTE equivalent. For a meaningful comparison between full-time and part-time employees, the recommended approach is to use two separate widgets, each filtered for one employment type.
- Formula attributes: Custom formula attributes cannot be used as the basis for Gap, Share of Total, or Quartile aggregations, as formula attributes are currently limited to counting in this context.
- Remediation planning: Leapsome identifies gaps and flags those above the 5% threshold, but does not include a built-in remediation scenario builder for budget-capped adjustments. Gap identification and reporting is the current scope.
