How do I create a job posting in Leapsome?
Go to 'Recruiting' > 'Jobs' > 'Postings' and click 'New job posting'. Choose the parent job, add the title, location, and description, set the visibility, and link an application form. Then click 'Publish'. You can publish a posting once its parent job is published and an active application form is linked.
A job posting is the version of a job that candidates see on your career portal and apply to. One job can have several postings, e.g., one per location or channel, each with its own title, description, visibility, application form, and compensation display. Postings take the level, work location, and compensation from the parent job, so you don't need to type internal data again.

When should I create a job posting?
- When you have a job and want to advertise it
- When you want a second ad for the same role, e.g., in another location
- When you want a posting that's only reachable by direct link (unlisted), e.g., for referrals or a targeted campaign
How to create a job posting
- Go to 'Recruiting' > 'Jobs' > 'Postings' and click 'New job posting'. You can also open a job's 'Postings' tab and click 'New job posting' there.
- In 'Basic info', select the 'Parent job' (draft or published), and add the 'External title', 'Work location', and 'Description'. You can also add a 'Level', 'Location type', 'Social description', and 'Application deadline'. If automatic closing is enabled, the posting closes when the deadline is reached.
- In 'Visibility', choose 'Listed' to show the posting on your career portal, or 'Unlisted' so it's only reachable by direct link.
- In 'Application form', select a form and check the preview. To learn more, see Building your application form.
- In 'Compensation' (optional), add salary tiers and choose which ones show on the career page. A compensation philosophy only shows if at least one tier is shown.
- Click 'Save draft', or 'Publish' on the last step.
Note: The external title must be unique among your active postings. Only add job-specific information to the description. Information you share across all jobs belongs in your career portal settings.
If you change the parent job on a posting that already has content, Leapsome asks whether to keep the current fields or replace them with the new job's values. You can't change the parent job after publishing. If you remove compensation tiers, they stay removed, and Leapsome doesn't copy them back from the job.
How to publish a job posting
- Make sure your career portal is active. To learn more, see Setting up, branding, and embedding your career portal.
- Open the draft posting and click 'Publish'. Leapsome saves your changes, checks the requirements, and publishes the posting.
- In the postings list, click the link icon next to the published posting to check the live page.
To be published, a posting must be a draft, its parent job must be published, it needs a description and a work location, and an active application form must be linked.
Note: If your career portal is inactive, the postings list shows a 'Career page disabled' warning.
How do I unpublish, close, or archive a posting?
You'll find the status actions in the '...' menu on the posting form ('Unpublish', 'Close', 'Archive', 'Duplicate') and in the row menu of the postings list ('Edit', 'Pin', 'Duplicate', 'Close', 'Archive').
- 'Unpublish' returns the posting to Draft.
- 'Close' stops new applications, e.g., when the position is filled. Candidates then see "This position is no longer open".
- 'Archive' removes the posting from active views. It's available for any status.
- 'Reopen as draft' or 'Restore as draft' brings a closed or archived posting back to Draft. Publish it again to go live.
- 'Pin' shows the posting first in the list and on the career portal.
- 'Duplicate' creates a draft copy.
Candidates who already applied stay in the pipeline in every case.
Note: Changes to the job carry over to its postings. Closing a job closes its postings, archiving a job archives them, and reopening a job can move them back to Draft. If you rename a published posting, its URL changes, but old links redirect, so shared links keep working.
How do I share a posting and track where candidates come from?
Copy the job's URL from your career portal and share it on job boards, social media, newsletters, or in emails.
To track the channel, add a source parameter to the link, e.g., source=linkedin, and optional UTM parameters. Leapsome stores them with the application. Applications without a source count as "Career page".
Who can create and publish job postings?
- To create a posting, you need 'Create job postings', or 'Create job postings for assigned jobs' for jobs where you're part of the hiring team. Admins can turn this on for each hiring team role.
- To publish or unpublish a posting, you need 'Publish job postings' or 'Publish assigned job postings'. The Recruiter role includes both assigned permissions by default.
- To edit, close, restore, or archive a posting, you need 'Manage job profiles' or 'Manage assigned job profiles' on the parent job.
- Postings under a confidential job are never shown publicly, even when they're published.
- Unlisted postings don't appear in the career portal's job list, but anyone with the link can apply.
