The Lifecycle Status of an Employee offers clear visibility into each employee's stage—whether hired, active or offboarding. This streamlined tracking helps to manage processes efficiently and improve communication.
Lifecycle statuses can be found in employees' profiles, in the grey box.
Assignment of a Lifecycle Status
Lifecycle status is assigned to employees automatically based on an employee’s employment dates. The rules of assignment are outlined in the section 'Lifecycle statuses and their definitions' below.
Lifecycle status visibility
The lifecycle status is only visible to Super-admins and Admins.
While the lifecycle status itself is only visible to Super-admins and Admins, all other system roles can see employees in lifecycle statuses ‘Active’ and ‘Offboarding’ only. This way, all employees can still be included in administrative processes or payroll without disclosing their employment status to colleagues.
Lifecycle statuses and their definitions
- Hired - an employee is hired and their start date is in the future
- Active - period starting from their official start date
- Offboarding - period between their notice date and their last day of work
- Leave - Period while the employee is on a long term leave of absence.
- Terminated - period after the termination date passes
- Deactivated - independent of date and is applied once an employee’s status is ‘Deactivated’
- Not set - a default status applied when the system does not have sufficient information to categorize the employee into any other lifecycle status
Please note: Lifecycle status is not able to be uploaded via excel import as it is assigned automatically based on the relevant dates within the user profile.
