What are AI insights on the review heatmap?
AI insights is a set of suggested analytical questions built into the review heatmap, displayed as cards in the 'Explore Insights' section at the top of the heatmap view. When an admin selects a question card, Leapsome automatically applies the relevant filters and segmentation to the heatmap and generates an AI summary that highlights the most notable patterns in the data.
The feature is designed to reduce the cognitive load of exploring review data. Admins no longer need to manually test filter combinations to find meaningful trends, Leapsome surfaces the right questions and generates the analysis on demand.
Questions are grouped by category such as team performance, calibration, or individual development. Summaries are tied to your current filters, so changing filters and re-selecting a question generates a new summary based on the updated data.
How to enable AI insights
AI insights require AI features to be enabled for your workspace. To enable them:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Employees'
- Open 'Feature Access Matrix'
- Enable the 'Reviews - generate heatmap insights' feature for the applicable user groups
How do I use AI insights on the review heatmap?
- Open the heatmap view and filter for your specific review cycle
- Apply any filters relevant to your analysis (e.g., team, perspective, or competency)
- Go to the 'Explore Insights' section at the top of the heatmap

Please note: AI insights are only shown when there is enough data in the heatmap. If the dataset is too small, you will see a message indicating that there is not enough data to generate an insight.
What questions are available?
Questions appear as cards in the 'Explore Insights' section, grouped by analytical focus. Not all questions are shown in every situation, questions that require data attributes not present in your current dataset (e.g., multiple work locations) may be hidden.

Admins can access AI insights on the review heatmap. Managers with heatmap access may also see the feature depending on their permissions. The questions and summaries shown reflect the data each user has permission to access.
2. Do AI insights use all review data or only what is visible on screen?
AI insights use all review data matching your current filters, not only what is visible on the current page of the heatmap. Follow-up questions via Leapy also draw on the full underlying dataset.
3. Can I use the suggested questions without AI enabled?
Yes. When AI features are not enabled, the 'Explore Insights' section is still visible. Selecting a question applies the relevant filters and segmentation to the heatmap, but no AI summary is generated. To enable AI summaries, turn on AI features in the Feature Access Matrix.
4. Do AI summaries update automatically when I change filters?
No. Summaries are generated when you select a question with your current filters applied. If you change filters and want a new summary, re-select the question to generate an updated one based on the new data.
5. Can AI insights be used during calibration?
