How do I enable AI Assist for Reviews on Leapsome?
To enable AI Assist for Reviews, a Super-admin goes to 'Settings' > 'Employees' > 'Feature Access Matrix' '> AI Features' and turns on one or both of the following toggles:
- 'Reviews - check grammar': enables the 'Check grammar and spelling' option in the AI Assist dropdown.
- 'Reviews - make constructive': enables the 'Enhance with constructive insights' option in the AI Assist dropdown.
You can enable either option independently or both together. Once enabled, an 'AI Assist' button appears in the review editor toolbar for reviewers writing text feedback.
AI Assist helps reviewers transform their initial thoughts into clear, constructive, and actionable comments - without replacing their judgment or perspective.
What does AI Assist offer reviewers?
AI Assist in Reviews provides up to two capabilities, depending on which toggles you have enabled:
- 'Check grammar and spelling' - reviews the text and corrects errors without changing the reviewer's message.
- 'Enhance with constructive insights' - rewrites feedback to be more specific, balanced, and actionable. It shows a transparent summary of what was changed and suggests further improvements inline.
These capabilities benefit reviewers in several ways:
- Improved feedback - Helping reviewers turn their initial thoughts into more constructive, actionable comments.
- Boosted writing confidence - Correcting spelling and grammar to reduce misunderstandings.
- Reduced bias - Keeping feedback focused on behaviors and outcomes rather than personality traits.
- Greater transparency - Showing reviewers exactly what was changed and why, so they can accept or discard each suggestion.
How do reviewers use AI Assist?
Once enabled, an 'AI Assist' button appears in the bottom-right corner of the editor toolbar whenever a reviewer is writing a text response.
- The reviewer writes their feedback in the review text field.
- The reviewer clicks 'AI Assist' in the editor toolbar.
- A dropdown appears with the available options: 'Check grammar and spelling' and/or 'Enhance with constructive insights', depending on what you have enabled.
- After selecting an option, an inline panel appears below the text showing the suggested version. Under 'Enhancement insights', the reviewer sees a summary of what was changed and additional suggestions for further improvement.
- The reviewer clicks 'Accept' to apply the suggestion, or 'Discard' to return to their original text.
The reviewer can regenerate a new suggestion at any time by clicking the refresh icon in the panel.
Please note: This feature enhances text the reviewer has already written. It cannot generate feedback from scratch.
